Thousands of customer’s information at risk after improper disposal of files at closed Kia dealership

Ten recycling bins outside of the former Anderson Kia of Boulder are under lock and key by police due to thousands of personal files were dumped in there, carelessly leaving previous customers’ information at risk.
Among the folders were the Social Security numbers, driver’s license information, photos, phone numbers and financial information for the dealership’s previous customers. The dealership was open for less than a year, and closed in January of 2009.
No one was able to be contacted in regards to the improper disposal of the documents. Former customers of Anderson Kia in Boulder, Colorado are encouraged to sign up for credit monitoring services and/or watch their credit reports for suspicious activity.
